WE WILL ARE HAVING AN ONLINE AUCTION THRU 9/6/10!! ALL ADOPTIONS WILL BE AT A REDUCED RATE. PLEASE VISIT www.online-equine.com AND PLACE YOUR BID ON YOUR FAVORITE EQUINE.
Would you like to adopt or foster one of our horses? We desire to make this process as quick and painless as possible for everyone. You should feel proud that you are taking the steps to providing a loving home to a horse that would otherwise be homeless and/or residing at our facility that is not designed for permanent care.
Step 1: Read, Sign, and Return the Adoption Application listing the horses which you are interested in. The adoption application allows us to get a general idea of your experience with horses, information to contact references, and where you will be housing the horse. If your desire is to foster a horse you will also complete the Application so we can obtain all of the information required for foster.
Step 2: We will review your application, check your references, and obtain additional information about your property/location where the horse will be kept. At this time we will invite you out to the farm to meet with the horse you are interested in (if you haven't already). It is our ultimate goal to ensure that you and the horse bond well and that you will be happy with your decision about providing a loving forever home for the horse.
Step 3: Once your application is approved, we will provide you with an Adoption Contract or Foster Agreement for the horse you wish to adopt or foster and you must sign to acknowledge that you understand the terms of adopting/fostering a horse from Wild Horse Rescue, Inc. For adoptions, will be required to pay the donation required for the horse adoption which is stated in the contract. You can view a sample contract to review the terms by clicking either of the links below.
Step 4: We will arrange for your pick up time of your new equine family member. In certain circumstances, we will deliver the horse for you if you agreed to reimburse our cost of fuel.
Important Things to Know About All of Our Adoptions:
#1 - Once adopted, none of the horses can be bred. There are no exceptions. Simply put, there are way too many homeless horses in our area and throughout the country for us to advocate breeding.
#2 - Wild Horse Rescue Inc. will retain ownership for the adopted horse for 1 year. This is to ensure that the horse is being well cared for and not abused or mishandled in any way.
#3 - You must not sale or trade the adopted horse without first contacting Wild Horse Rescue Inc. and notifying us of your intent. At which time we will decide if the horse would be better off being returned to the rescue. We care solely about the best interest of the horse.
