Shelter Maintenance
Keeping a shelter clean is critical to the health and welfare of the horses and just as important for public image. A couple of hours a week can make a world of difference in lightening the load for other dedicated volunteers who might need a day of rest.

Medical Help - Vet Techs

This is usually the most important financial endeavor of any group we rely completely on volunteers for donations, coordinating the activities and participating during the events. Making calls to recruit volunteers, collecting donations, scheduling events and implementing ideas is one of the many duties of an effective coordinator.

Sometimes we have horses with special needs. Volunteers help with socializing horses that are shy and those that need tender loving care. Socializing horses helps them become more desirable pets and therefore more adoptable.

Basic Animal Care
Brushing horses helps calm and socialize them, hoof trimming, and just overall checks will help detect or prevents health problems.

Public interaction
Help people looking for horses locate us. Letting the public know who we are and what we are doing is a HUGE factor for our success.

Grant Writing
Writing grant proposals can be confusing and time consuming. Small groups such as ours lack the resources and the expertise that is required to acquire funding, yet grant money represents considerable financial relief.

Manual labor
Any labor help is welcomed whether it be cleaning stalls, making minor repairs or maintaining shelter property. (Composting, Carpentry, Electrical, plumbing and new projects, etc.)
