Why do we need your help?

Our Hay & feed cost alone averages about $20 per week/per horse. We currently have 46 horses. That is a total of $1000 per week to feed hay to these horses year round. On a good week we could feed on about $800. We have to provide vaccinations, rotational wormers, farrier, and veterinary care to maintain the health of these rescue horses. Then, We have to pay for the electric and water at the barn. Last year alone we spent several thousands of dollars for those items. Then, we have to run & maintain the tractor that cleans our feedlot and puts out hay. If we do the math, Our Grand Total to keep the bare essentials for these horses is well over $50,000 year round. Last Year, we adopted out (with adoption fees) 6 horses which brought in about $2,000 to be put back into the rescue. We also received several donations of money, hay, and volunteer services totaling just under $10,000. We are so very thankful for all of the kind hearts of our donors because we would not have made it without them!! However, as you can easily see, we can barely keep the rescue running and there is never room for profit. Even if we adopted out every available horse this year alone with an adoption fee we would still see our numbers in red without the paycheck of Betty Davison (a part time mail carrier and Founder of the rescue).
